In collaboration with other clinicians and organisations, the Embodied Psychotherapy Centre offers training designed to enhance the practices of those working as counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers, health care professionals, psychologists etc. and those in training who may be interested in developing their skills in the area of bodywork.

Embodied Psychotherapy Practice is grounded in both psychoanalytic and psychodynamic principles and also draws on maps from Integrative Bodywork, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and 5Rhythms® Movement Therapy to choreograph the stages and processes of Presence; Intention; Expansion; Transformation and Integration.

Training using this approach places an emphasis on experiential learning where participants are invited to use their personal and/or clinical experience to develop their skills as a means to understanding the theories that underpin this approach, and how they can apply theory to practice.

We are committed to maintaining best practice standards and to providing a space where those participating in a training, are actively involved in augmenting their own professional development and the professional development of others. We are currently working with an ongoing training and development group and in collaboration with Diversity & Equality Works we have developed a project called Inclusive Minds offering training to marginalised groups.

Thérèse Gaynor who leads our trainings is an experienced practitioner and trainer. She is an accredited psychotherapist with EAP, BACP, IAHIP and IACP and is an accredited supervisor with IAHIP.

If you are interested in speaking with someone about what is available under our Training Program, please contact the Centre.

Using traditional approaches, Embodied Psychotherapy Practice also draws on maps from Integrative Bodywork; Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and 5Rhythms® Movement Therapy to choreograph the stages and processes of Presence; Intention; Expansion; Transformation and Integration
